We weren’t even going to release it as a single. But the growing army of fans love it and Don’t Go Gently has been used by BBC Radio Five Live and Sky Sports as a backing track for over a month now so we thought we’d put it out.
Taken from Four Day Hombre’s searing debut album Experiments in Living, which the Manchester Evening News described as ‘…an album that sneaks up behind you and mugs you with its gorgeousness’, Don’t Go Gently is a surging piece of emotionally complex guitar pop with relentless hooks. It expertly showcases the controlled abandon which makes FDH so special: from its crashing entry to its gently waltzing coda, it is an uplifting joy from start to finish.
The release will be on limited edition numbered vinyl single and digital only. Digital B-sides are two tracks taken from the sell-out Leeds City Varieties show from late 2005. The vinyl will contain a new song 'Give Me a Rocket Pack and Show Me the Moon' recorded by the band in spare moments whilst on their last Barfly tour and can be pre-ordered in advance.
